WHAT'S YOUR COFFEE?!

Lately, I have had an obsession with coffee...it was the only thing on my mind every time I yawned during an exam and stretched my legs out in front of me to keep me awake while in the process constantly kicking Diana's chair who sat in front of me!

I was watching a film called Picture Perfect with Jennifer Aniston, Kevin Bacon and Jay Mohr the other day,

and I found it most interesting when Nick asked Kate "how do you take your coffee?" while learning about her life in five minutes. This confirmed for me that coffee and how you take it is a really important aspect in anyone's life...(unless you absolutely detest coffee...which would be a pity.)

So I have taken the liberty of listing all the types of coffee one can establish as their own:

• Macchiato (my personal favourite)

- Traditional Macchiato: one, two or three shot espresso with an inch

milk foam on top

- Latte Macchiato: stained milk i.e. lots of frothed milk with little

espresso

- Long Macchiato: double espresso with a little steamed milk

• Caffe Latte: 2/3 steamed milk, 1/3 espresso

• Cappuccino: 1/2 steamed milk, 1/2 espresso

• Flat White: 2/3 steamed milk, 1/3 espresso (basically the same as a caffe latte but only found in Australia and New Zealand)

• Short Black: a shot of espresso (30ml) (only called this in Australia)

• Long Black: double shot espresso over hot water

• Ristretto: very rich, dark 20ml espresso pulled differently than a normal espresso

• Piccolo Latte: a smaller version of a latte but using ristretto

And there are of course many variations to these coffee...

For example you might ask for a long macchiato with cold/hot milk. A cortado is exactly the same as a macchiato except they have different textured milk - macchiato's being more frothy.

So there you have it. A list of coffees that you might call as your own in the future (if not now).

I've always wanted to be a regular at a cafe to the point where I step in and they automatically make my coffee. lol. that would be awwwesome!
