Sea Patrol Rant

Over the weekend, I was obsessing over Sea Patrol, a show that I previously thought looked stupid and unappealing. HOWEVER I did start watching the show on tv, and then I got hooked and decided to watch seasons 1 and 2 over two days.

The thing that makes me angry however (and I know I'm 2 years late) was that the producers killed off one of the characters - Josh Holiday aka ET. This bothers me A LOT because over the two seasons, he and Nikki aka the Nav (Saskia Burmeister) formed a relationship however had to keep it a secret due to the none fraternization rule in the navy on board the same ship. SO there's all this lead-up which climaxed at the much awaited proposal but in that same episode, the writers of the show decided "let's kill ET just to see Nikki suffer" so for the rest of that episode, Nikki bawls her eyes out and remains pretty much depressed for the rest of season 3! ARGH!!!

Well this is what I've heard happens anyway. I refused to keep watching after the proposal however much to my dismay, I took the wrong decision is watching a couple of youtube videos and saw scenes which shows Nikki crying and crying and as Saskia Burmeister is such an awesome actress, it made me want to bawl my eyes out as well. HOW COULD THEY?!?! After all this...

AND I had also decided to not watch seasons 3,4 & 5 due to the fact that season 3 obsesses over finding ET's killed (who turned out to be a stupid guy who sexually harassed Nikki in season 2), and seasons 4 and 5 loses three and I mean THREE of the most awesome characters on the show (including Saskia).

So there you go. Please please please watch Sea Patrol after the HSC (so you won't waste time like I did). It is actually a really good show even though you might think it's stupid. Just stop after season 2 otherwise you will get really depressed... like I am right now :(
