Reminisces

I've been reminiscing a lot lately about our childhood. Maybe it is because I have no other distraction now seeing as trials are over and I am probably not going to start studying again for awhile.

So I was thinking back and started to miss certain things like:

- cassette tapes
- floppy disks
- walkmans
- massive stereos/boomboxes

I remember from McDonalds, I once received a Mickey Mouse cassette tape from ordering a Happy Meal and I still have it but it just makes me wonder whether I'll ever listen to it again in the future because of the lack of cassette players which are being sold. It just frightens me that technology is becoming so advanced these days and that we'll just rely on technology in the future. I remember playing outside on the grass, climbing trees, dad making us hit nails into wood to advance our coordination, making mud cakes and the list goes on. But nowadays you see children on the sofa watching tv or playing on their Nintendo. It is fair to blame technology for this restrictive behaviour? Is that why half our population is becoming obese? Hmmm...

I was also reminiscing about the tv shows we used to watch back when we were children. After flicking through the various channels this morning trying to find something good to watch, cartoons continually dominated the screen so 'defeatedly' I settled on a show called Sally, the Bollywood Detective. After watching ten minutes I fully appreciated the shows that we were so blessed with as children. Remember these? Flashback to the 90s!

- Captain Planet
- Recess
- Hey Arnold
- Cat Dog
- Powerpuff Girls
- Doug
- The Dumb Bunnies
- Where's Waldo?
- The Magic School Bus
- Pepper Ann
- Daria
- Oakey Doke

And any others I have forgotten, feel free to comment below.

So there you have it, reminisces of the 90s and how much I miss it. There are also heaps of other things such as games and music, but I'll leave that for another time.
